Our travels will also take us to Mongolia's capitol, Ulaanbaatar, where we will find common ground with the local climbing community through the ALCF Climbing Wall and the Mongolian Climbing School. We aim to donate climbing gear to the climbing wall in hopes of promoting progression and active mountain stewardship in our cross cultural relations.
We would like to thank the American Alpine Club and the Hans Saari Memorial Fund for making this expedition a reality. Please support these organizations in any way you can.
OUR TEAM
Christopher (CJ) grew up in the beautiful Gallatin Valley of Montana and from a young age has immersed himself in its surrounding mountains, constantly seeking out new lines to climb and ski. Pursuing a customized media arts degree at Montana State University, he is a talented filmmaker and photographer, with a growing resume of short films and photographs. His passion for film and the path not-often-considered makes him a great asset in documenting the progression of the team's travels.
Aaron Rains
An esteemed Big Sky ski patroller of eight years, Aaron possesses a keen and humble mountain sense that has carried him and his skis to numerous summits around the American West. He is a graduate student currently enrolled in the Land Resources Department at Montana State University in Bozeman. As such, Aaron thrives on exploration of the land and the mind, and continually draws inspiration from the late John Denver.
Ryan Minton
Ryan grew up in the Black Hills of South Dakota, and moved west to Greater Yellowstone in 2003. Since then, he has pursued ski descents all over the region, his passion for ski exploration growing with each new summit. A former Alpinist intern and current Big Sky ski patroller, Ryan is excited to combine his interests in documenting the adventure and descents of the Altai.
